About
The Hong Kong Government gazettes 6 February 2027 as Lunar New Year's Day, with 8 and 9 February as the third and fourth days of Lunar New Year and general holidays. The fourth day is a holiday in place of the second, which falls on a Sunday.
The tourism board describes Chinese New Year as one of the city's biggest festivals, marked with red lanterns, lion dances, markets, prayers for good fortune and festive food. Its International Chinese New Year Night Parade takes place in Tsim Sha Tsui on the first day of the holiday, with floats and performances.
